Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may behybridorremote.
If you livewithin 50 milesof the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will behybrid.This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

What does it take to be successful in this role?
General understanding of business operations, requirements processes, and business modeling concepts
Knowledge of the functions and use of the Microsoft office suite of products and their application
Ability to learn and develop efficiencies in Robotics Process Automation (RPA), as it relates to Finance and Tax processes
Experience working with tax compliance or tax reporting software preferred
Competent in the areas of change management, quality and project management
Good presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact and negotiate with internal/external customers
Ability to maintain professionalism in accordance with corporate standards
Experience and proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
Intermediate skills in other tools such as Microsoft Access, Visio, Power BI and the ability to develop proficiency in other analytic and data wrangling tools
Intermediate knowledge and skills in Business Processes, Business Case Preparation, Business Cost Benefit Analysis and Business Definition Requirements
Education & Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree in business management, management information systems, computer science, or a related field
Two years of professional job-related work experience in an organization of comparable size
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Education & Experience Preferred
Six Sigma certification
Microsoft Office Certification in Excel
Minimum of two years of experience with the successful delivery and support of Excel macros, Visual Basic scripts or other configuration/scripting type technology
Insurance industry tax accounting or tax systems experience
Travel
Less than or equal to 10%
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Provides administration and support of tax systems including user set-up, data loads and configuration tasks
Leads projects to identify improvements to processes, assisting with the development and implementation of automation to support the department’s goals of continuous improvement and resource management
Assists with development, analysis, and implementation of accounting procedures in a systems environment in conformance with GAAP, SSAP, SEC, IRS, and other regulatory standards; assists with development and implementation of new applications and analytical models, or enhancements of existing systems
Maps current business processes to provide a foundation for defining business activities; uses business process maps to develop procedures, models, and operational processes; develops accurate project deliverables, including but not limited to project charters, communication plans, risk mitigation plans, quality plans, cost/benefit analyses, interface specifications, issues/concerns logs, project certification logs, project checklists, use-case scenario specifications, process models
Develops metrics to support quality reviews and to provide management information; develops operational reports in support of business process research and/or project successes, to include regular return on investment review; and provides analyses of those reports to management about key release metrics; presents and discusses these reports and analyses with management
Overtime required during financial close cycles
Performs other related duties as assigned

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $49,000 - $113,000.
