Description
We are seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join our team in Gig Harbor, Washington. The chosen candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including the management of full-cycle accounting functions for a portfolio of multi-family communities and the oversight of accounting teams. Responsibilities:
• Guide the month-end close process for each community and your team.
• Oversee team members involved in the accounting process.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple entities.
• Maintain and record fixed asset schedules, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
• Monitor and support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Complete monthly general ledger and bank statement reconciliations.
• Prepare state B& O and Sales & Use Tax filings.
• Collaborate with internal and external associates on special projects such as budgeting, cash forecasting, external audits, year-end tax preparation, accounting software upgrades, etc.
• Follow accounting policies and procedures.
• Recommend process improvement opportunities to enhance accounting efficiencies.
• Familiar with the on-boarding and off-boarding properties.
• Manage the oversight of accounting teams.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. Benefits available with this position include medical, dental and vision; life and disability insurances; participation in the company’s 401(k) plan with a match and 15 days of paid vacation, 10 days of paid sick leave and 10 paid holidays per calendar year
Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding is necessary for the role.
• Experience with Accounting Software Systems is essential.
• Ability to perform all core Accounting Functions accurately and efficiently.
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Familiarity with Accrual Accounting is required.
• Auditing skills are necessary to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Knowledge of Commercial Property Management is critical.
• Expertise in Property Accounting is a must.
• Experience in creating and managing Property Budgets is required.
• Familiarity with Property Management is crucial.
• Ability to conduct Month End Close procedures efficiently.
• Experience in managing Month-end Close Activities is necessary.
• General Accounting skills are essential for the role.
