• Developing and maintaining an effective organization capable of achieving objectives and supporting manufacturing operations;

• Leading assembly, manufacturing processing, cost estimating, make/buy analysis, systems planning, layout, standards, releasing, gaging and checking equipment, tooling and work standards;

• Managing development, implementation and continual improvement of the operating methods, equipment, systems and other operating infrastructure used to realize operating goals and objectives;

• Ensuring assigned facilities and methods are provided for them;

• Travel as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Demonstrated knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment;

• Demonstrated ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance;

• Knowledge of tools, approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide satisfactory levels of service;

• Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes;

• Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them;

• Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process;

• Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site;

• Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.

Essential and Physical Activities Functions

• Strength – Position typically involves work in an office environment with occasional visits to an industrial environment. Frequent/constant sitting. Occasional standing and walking. Occasional light- to medium- level lifting or carrying (up to 30 pounds);

• Motion – Position regularly requires standard motions associated with working in an office environment;

• Vision/Hearing Requirements – Frequent verbal communications, including both talking and hearing;

• Work Environment – Position is typically located in an office environment with occasional visits to an industrial environment which may include a non-temperature-controlled environment, as well as exposure to noise (85+ decibels), occasional exposure to temperature changes, heavy machinery and other hazardous working conditions requiring the use of PPE;

• Emotional Demands – Very high level of responsibility. Must be able to coordinate diverse aspects of a project. Requires significant interpersonal skills while sustaining very high standards. Domestic and international travel as required;

• Safety – Position may occasionally require the use of Personal Protective Equipment during visits to industrial areas.
