Microsoft Corporation Data Analyst in Greater Toronto, Ontario

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement key datasets that provide structured and timely access to actionable business information.

  • Develop a deep understanding of vast data sources (existing on the cloud) and know exactly how, when, and which data to use to tackle business problems.

  • Utilize a variety of data stores including Azure Data Lake, SQL Database, SQL Data Warehouse

  • Retrieve and analyze data using Kusto Query Language, Scope SQL, Excel, Power BI and other data management systems.

  • Act as a conduit between multiple PMs to coordinate and facilitate interdependent work efforts at the feature level

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 4+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

  • OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ years of experience with big data platforms.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building Power BI, Excel, and Reporting Services dashboards and reports.

  • Experience in a data-intensive role, with a focus on product and advanced analytics.

  • Problem solving, technical and data analysis skills.

  • Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete data.

Data Analytics IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $91,000 - CAD $168,400 per year.
