Job Summary: The City of Greeley is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst I to join the IT Division. Under the direction of the Application Services Manager, the Business Intelligence Analyst with a GIS experience background will provide advanced levels of data analysis, development of spatial data, and management of users within the City's enterprise data systems. This position also provides training, project support, and analytic product development. This opportunity needs a dynamic individual who is a GIS champion and is looking for career growth assisting the organizations departments by providing data driven decision analytics.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills:

Minimum Requirements: Current and valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record in order to drive on behalf of the City. Associate's degree in computer/data science, geographic information systems, engineering, or a closely related field or a certificate of comparable length and program content. One (1) to two (2) years of experience with analytics in a geospatial discipline or other visualization software. One (1) to two (2) years of experience with ESRI Suite of GIS software, relational database management. One (1) to two (2) years of experience with the Microsoft Office suite, including PowerBI, PowerAutomate, Python Scripting, Adobe Graphics Suite, GPS field capture hardware and software, large plotters, desktop and mobile computer devices. OR A combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job may be considered by the hiring authority.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer/data science, geographic information systems, engineering, or a closely related field. One (1) or more years of experience working in and training a wide-ranging users base on the ESRI Enterprise platform. Knowledge of or experience with object-oriented programming such as Python.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to decipher complicated requests and create data analysis products to complete the requests such as creating response times for the Fire Department based on staff, truck types and road Impedances. Knowledge of information technology service management (ITSM) principles and best practices. Knowledge of Accessibility, Universal Design, and/or User Experience Design standards and best practices. Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles and best practices. Knowledge of common computer operating systems. Knowledge of computer networking fundamentals. Technical computer skills, including the ability to assess complex data, utilize common operating systems, learn new software programs, and understand programming languages. Computer programming skills, including the ability to evaluate and solve problems, stay organized, be cognizant of and address details, and utilize common programming languages (e.g. SQL, Java, C++, Python, etc.). Ability to collect and document business needs and translate the information collected into technical specifications. Ability to write technical documentation and specifications with the intention that it be easily understandable to the target audience. Ability to translate and explain technical concepts and vocabulary in common terms to non-technical audiences. Ability to learn and apply new technologies. Ability to prepare reports and briefings that can be understood by a variety of technical and non-technical audiences. Knowledge of the business and organizational structure of Colorado municipalities. Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal. Ability to deliver a high level of commitment to customer service. Ability to espond to requests in a timely manner. Ability to focus on activities that have the greatest impact on meeting work commitments. Ability to identify security risks and how they impact the organization. Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and the ability to learn and experiment with new software and systems. Oral, written, and listening communication skills, including the ability to accurately interpret what others are saying and convey messages, information, concepts, and details accurately and clearly. Ability to be cognizant of and address details.
