Naval Supply Systems Command SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Groton Submarine Base, Connecticut
Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the of Consolidated Hazardous Material Reutilization and Inventory Management Program (CHRIMP), NAVSUP FLCN North Branch. Responsibilities You will perform HM supply program planning and budgeting for supply and related operation. You will be responsible for the planning and day-to-day management of the section's functions and programs performed in support of the HAZMAT and CHRIMP programs. You will analyze operational reports, plans, and work schedules from a wide variety of supply systems to anticipate and pinpoint causes or material support deficiencies. You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work You will participate in the EMPB (Environmental Management Protection Board) meetings used to determine the proper direction of Hazardous Material usage and storage. You will develop an education program to ensure that potential customers are aware of the availability of material through the system and the advantages of using the excess material. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Supply Management Specialist experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying a knowledge of specialized methods and techniques in support of the Consolidated Hazardous Material Reutilization and Inventory Management Program (CHRIMP) supply program and the Enhanced CHRIMP Afloat Programs (ECAP). You also have at least one year of experience providing technical guidance and assistance to Supply Specialists. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Develop work methods, techniques and local operating procedures for receipt, custody, stowage and distribution retail stock and customer owned Hazardous Material (HM); 2) Recommend and approve substitutions and initiates disposals of excess HM; 3) Brief managers on hazardous minimization proposals affecting distribution facilities, storage space, and staffing, material handling equipment and related operating requirements; and 4) Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees..
