Bausch + Lomb Technical Service Engineer in Guangzhou 2, China

GOAL AND PURPOSE OF FUNCTION:

Provide engineering support to B+L customers in order to ensure customer satisfaction and patient safety following local/regional regulation as well as legal manufacturer requirements based on existing B+L SOPs, FDA, cGMP, ISO 13485, MDR, local regulation.

MAIN ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITY AREA

  1. Provide engineering support to B+L customers accounts in order to ensure customer satisfaction and patient safety
  • Execute Preventive and Curative maintenance in timely manner according to Manufacturer specification and local regulation if any.

  • Provide with local/regional first tier service for the installed base defined as “field serviceable”.

  • Execute equipment’s’ installation / trouble shooting / failure diagnostics / repairs / calibration / equipment release test, service reporting in full respect with local / regional (FDA/ISO13485/MDR) regulations and Legal manufacturer SOP’s (GPS/Munich & EMEA Technical Service Operation Center) )

  • Following local/regional regulation as well as legal manufacturer requirements

  • Support the setup of B+L Surgical products by supporting product demonstrations.

  1. Preventive and curative maintenance:

Organises and establishes control systems of surgical equipment in order to monitor performance: Ensures that operation and maintenance of systems complies with design specifications and safety standards.

• Methodical /Logical approach and reasoning

• Ability to research into problem areas to advance basic knowledge and to solve specific problems

• Organises and establishes control systems to monitor operational efficiency and performance of relevant equipment

• Ensures appropriate installation methods and quality and safety standards of Surgical Refractive equipment.

• Conduct extensive tests of equipment and diagnoses complex faults and undertakes repair of medical equipment within the portfolio

• Proceed with upgrade and or spare parts exchange as necessary

• Organize his agenda to ensure to proceed with Preventive maintenance as well as calibration devices exchange, in due time and report accordingly

• Proceed with electrical safety test each time it is requested and report accordingly

  1. Communicate with customers.

• Inform the customers about the technical status of their equipment’s and the technical service operations that need to be executed and/or that have been done

• Issue a service report to be signed by the customers

• Ensure the customers employee in charge of using the equipment’s, understand how to use the system, make them able to proceed with basic trouble shooting operation in case of basic technical challenges, connect with the commercial and/or the application specialist as necessary.

  1. Administration and Reporting

• Open a “Case” immediately he has been informed about customer request

• After evey single repairs or maintennace, report in timely manner using all reporting tools requested: ServiceMax, ASG/ASRG, Sales force every working days in order to make sure Global Quality has the time to review all technical reporting and report every adverse event in due time as per MDR expectation.

• Make sure all parts used for the maintennace are properly reported in the service report in order to ensure the parts used will be depleated from his carstock

• Manage carefully his car stock and procced with detailed inventory every quarters and each time it is requested. Pay special attention to high value parts and slow-moving items that need to be returned to the local office.

• Take care of his toolbox, carefully check his “calibration tools”, anticipate and make sure they are certified in due time. No repairs nor maintenance can be done without properly calibrated tools.

  1. Communicate

• Communicate with the sales reps and clinical specialist to inform them about your activity and equipment status

• Communicate with customer service and / or technical service administrator for Spare parts ordering, carstock inventory , Agenda, priority, demo, installation…

• Strive for permanently information exchange with legal manufacturers via the official communication channels to induce improvements regarding processes, products and documentation

Qualifications/ Experience required:

• Excellent English skills both written and verbal (all trainings are in English)

• Professional in local language spoken and written

• Ability to demonstrate significant level of technical expertise for technical support, preferably in “Medical Device” area and if possible, in context of Hospital/Clinic Operating rooms

• Hold minimum bachelor degree in an electromechanical/ electro- optical discipline, or equivalent technical schools

• Ability to gain complex clinical knowledge of products and be able to pass this on to clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels
