Project Manager

Guaynabo, Puerto Rico

System One is seeking a Project Manager in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico to manage and coordinate the design and planning of transportation infrastructure projects. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to developing safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems. This role involves project management and effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.

Important Details:

• Direct Hire opportunity

• Pay rate range: $83,000 – $104,000/yr. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

• Christmas Bonus: Minimum required by law in Puerto Rico.

• Vacation and Sick Leave: Employees receive 120 vacation hours and 96 sick leave hours per year.

• Health Insurance: The company offers medical and/or dental plans, covering 65% of the individual monthly premium.

  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manage a transportation and design team with the clients of the projects in charge.

• Support the team group for the administrative issues and problems in the projects in charge.

• Ensure compliance with local and federal standards and regulations.

• Revise and do an effective QA/QC on the final product as an Estimate of works, supplemental and regular specifications, and plans.

• Contribute to the planning and design of public transportation systems, including bus and rail networks.

• Coordinate with project teams to ensure project goals are met.

• Keep track of schedule and be in charge of the budget of the projects assigned

• Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements and expectations.

• Provide regular project updates and address client concerns.

• Participate in project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors as necessary.

• Other marketing duties include providing timely resume updates, project write-ups, proposal support, and participating in marketing initiatives as required.

• Facilitate career development of junior engineers and designers through active mentorship, providing formal and informal feedback and seizing opportunities to develop and teach new skills.

• Identify skills and knowledge gaps within the department, seek opportunities to provide internal training, and identify worthwhile external training content.

  COMPETENCIES

• Ensure transportation projects comply with safety regulations and industry standards.

• Stay informed about changes in transportation regulations and incorporate them into project designs.

• Advanced knowledge of the PRHTA and FHWA roadway design process.

• Able to coordinate tasks across disciplines to achieve project goals.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on multiple priorities, possessing excellent time management and organizational skills.

• Committed to delivering quality work products and the highest client satisfaction.

  REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

• CIAPR Active Member

• Years of Experience: 5+ years

• Must possess excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills

  PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Thorough understanding of PRHTA design standards.

• Demonstrated success in client service and project delivery.

• Participation in relevant Engineering Societies.
