Responsibilities

  • The Supervisor RN coordinates, supervises and is accountable for the daily activities of the Nursing Department. As a Supervisor RN, you are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.

  • The Supervisor RN is responsible for assisting with the achievement of patient outcomes through implementation of critical pathways and in accordance with the mission of the hospital.

    Responsibilities:

  • Assesses, plans, evaluates, and ensures the implementation of the patient's pathway to achieve identified outcomes.

  • Assumes a leadership role in the provision of quality nursing care for patients receiving services within the nursing department.

  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, and business plan.

  • Demonstrates continued competence in assessing, treating, and caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective.

  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position.

  • Identifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise, and judgment. Decisions are most likely to impact individual employees and/or patients.

  • Supervises the smooth functioning of the unit on assigned shift while coordinating with the Mgr Nursing and/or Dir Nursing.

  • Coordinates work activities with other supervisors.

  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. Develops plans to meet short-term objectives.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current Licensure in the State

  • Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support Course.

  • CNOR preferred.

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and/or BSN, Master's degree in Nursing/Management preferred.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience including 1-2 years as a supervisor.
