The U.S. Consumer Services Team is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. The objective of the US Consumer Services Control Management Specialized Risk Management team is to provide subject matter expertise on specific Operational Risk topics to ensure the BU is equipped with in-depth knowledge of risk-stripes to manage and mitigate these risks effectively; supports the BU with expert guidance for topical Operational Risk intelligence.

US Consumer Services is looking for a Sr. Analyst of Specialized Risk Management focused on ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.

The Sr. Analyst, US Consumer Services Specialized Risk Management will :

  • Assist in documenting subject matter expertise that is used to advise BUs

  • Support compiling of any planned guidance that is planned to be shared with BUs

  • Assist in specific activities / tasks required to support integration of decentralized risk types into broader Operational Risk Management (ORM) policies and programs

  • Assist in administrative activities to compile topical risk information, including emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory updates relevant to each area of expertise

  • Assist in administrative activities required to compile materials and disseminate targeted training and awareness programs to increase understanding and management of specific risk topics within US Consumer Services

  • Assist in specific activities / tasks required to support more senior team members in consultation on the design and implementation of controls tailored to specialized risk areas

  • Assist in specific tasks / activities required to research and gather topical risk knowledge to share with BU process owners to enable BU to strengthen and embed relevant ORM considerations into processes

  • Assist in specific activities / tasks required to gather topical risk strategies and procedures to align with changes in the business environment and regulatory landscape

  • Assist in specific activities / tasks to gather relevant operational risk insights, better practices, themes, etc. across the enterprise

  • Ensure risks related to AEMP 10 are managed in line with regulatory & AXP expectations.

  • Support execution of information security assessments for in-scope third parties (e.g. support with security assessments, assess the quality of IS/IT assessments conducted by assessors for US Consumer Services Third parties, support business in defining correct risk as appropriate to the control failures & treatment for risk mitigation etc.)

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) and understanding critical operational risk management lifecycle activities

  • Project management, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in process governance, establishing and overseeing robust decision-making processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards

  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively [BU-SPECIFIC]

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous

  • Experience in at least one of the following:

o Assisting in day-to-day activities to support compliance with enterprise policies and programs pertaining to specific risk types and supporting with design/enhancement of procedures/standards by providing topic-specific insight o Assisting in specific activities / tasks required to support advising on decentralized risk types into broader operational risk policies and programs

The objective of the US Consumer Control Management Governance team is to establish the Operational Risk and Controls strategy for US Consumer set up a foundational governance structure that ensures operational risks are identified, assessed, and managed in compliance with enterprise Operational Risk Management programs and reporting.

US Consumer Control Management is looking for an Analyst of Governance focused on ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.

The Analyst, US Consumer Services Governance will:

  • Assists in specific areas of execution plans for operational risk management within the business unit (BU), including BU specific guidelines, project plans, etc.

  • Track certain issues with KRI limits and risk appetite for US Consumer to ensure operational risks are managed within agreed thresholds

  • Support the implementation of parts of the operational risk framework to enable effective risk management and decision making in the BU

  • Assists in the development of portions of BU-specific procedures and additional standards (i.e., escalation protocols), related to the execution of the Operational Risk Management programs

  • Help facilitate the understanding and use of the risk governance framework basics across BUs through regular communication

  • Support the day-to-day internal and external exam management process, working with the Enterprise functions (e.g., data request compilation, action implementation, and regulatory adherence)

  • Assist to aggregate basic level reporting, approvals/exceptions and support "change-the-function" activities for the BU

  • Follow processes to ensure and monitor the integration of regulatory changes & updates into the Operational Risk framework and training materials

  • Support sharing insights, better practices, themes, etc. across the enterprise

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-2 Years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities

o Supporting of creating, communicating and ensuring understanding and adherence to operational risk procedures and standards

o Assisting the operational risk exam management processes
