Description
Primary Responsibilities:
Conceptual design of new products and ideas to improve existing products
Leads NPI Process at all levels.
Managing and maintaining schedules for design projects as assigned
Help stimulate creativity within the Skilcraft Engineering Group
Executing components of design projects
Ability to effectively manage work under pressure for time sensitive projects
Product definition and requirements development
Creating and validating new designs (modeling/drafting/BOM creation)
Creating and presenting concepts/products to internal and external customers
Direct programming of CNC equipment.
Recommend and or introduce improvements to manufacturing methods
Manufacturing liaison support to operations, purchasing and estimating
Machine Tool Justification, Selection, Commission, bring to operational capability.
Tool Design, Implementation
Cutting & Forming Tool Identification & Implementation
General Responsibilities:
Product design and conceptual renderings using SolidWorks or AutoCAD
Create drawing packages as required
Create test plans as needed, conduct testing and document results
Participate in the design, assembly and testing of prototypes
Provide technical reviews for internal product designs
Technical presentations to internal and external customers
Support program design reviews, drawing reviews, failure analysis, and anomaly resolution
Education and Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering Preferred
Associate Degree in Engineering Required
5+ years’ experience in sheet metal engineering and disciplines required
Custom Sheet Metal Fabrication experience preferred
Above average knowledge of manufacturing principles and equipment including CNC
Excellent SolidWorks, or equivalent, modeling skills required
Firmly grasps the concept of designing to high quality and utilizing modern technologies
Experience with automation processes and new technology
Excellent written and oral communication skills across all levels of an organization
Proficiency in Microsoft Office a must
