System One Welder in Henderson, Colorado
Job Title: Second Shift Welder
Shift Hours: 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our second shift team. The ideal candidate will have experience in MIG welding and general construction, with a solid understanding of welding processes and techniques. This role involves setting up and operating welding machines, interpreting shop drawings/blueprints, and performing a variety of welding tasks to meet production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and work from shop drawings and blueprints
Accurately read and utilize a tape measure
Set up and operate MIG/MP welding machines
Perform GMAW (MIG) and FCAW (Flux-Core) welding on mild steel
Use power tools such as drills, impact drivers, and angle grinders
Apply basic construction skills in various tasks
Work from ladders and scissor lifts while wearing fall protection
Wear and properly use a respirator as required
Job Duties:
Set up, operate, or tend to welding, soldering, or brazing machines
Apply knowledge of gas metal arc, plasma arc, and resistance welding processes
Utilize design techniques and tools for precision technical plans, blueprints, and models
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent defects and ensure material conformance
Examine workpieces for defects and measure with straightedges or templates
Operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, including shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment
Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools
Top 3 Skills Required:
MIG Welding experience
General construction skills
Mechanical aptitude
Additional Requirements:
Some experience with flux core welding is preferred
Proficiency in measuring, cutting, grinding, and using various tools
Experience with overhead cranes and scissor lifts is a plus
Ability to perform 50% of job duties as welding
Interview Process:
30-minute on-site interview
30-minute weld test (candidates should bring their hood, respirator, and gloves if available)
