Job Summary:

Akima is looking for aFinance Analyst to work in Herndon, VA. The Akima Finance Analyst will be a key member of the Akima Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, responsible for all aspects of project analysis & reporting forecasting and process improvement as the Business Development Finance Analyst. A forward thinker that works with Project Control, FP&A, Finance, Corporate Development leadership and the Chief Growth Officer to anticipate the next steps in reporting. Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Sets up, maintains, and analyzes Bid and Proposal (B&P) projects across Akima

  • Serves as the primary Point of Contact (POC) in all aspects of Financial Reporting of Business Development, Marketing and Communications Costs (including project setup, purchase requisitions, vendor / consultant invoice approvals, cost/variance analysis, EAC development, project reporting, and communications to stakeholders)

  • Coordinates with the subsidiaries’ Presidents, Operations Managers, Business Development and Capture leads with monthly reviews and communication of project-level financial data and process improvement

  • Works with the group finance representatives and Project Control to assist with annual budgeting and forecasting

  • Assists the FP&A team on overall indirect spend reporting across Akima, covering all Shared Services functions

  • Responsive to time critical deadlines

  • Deadline-driven person that follows up on action items

  • Sets up and runs effective meetings

  • Designs and presents PowerPoint slide presentations

  • Sets up indirect projects for B&P Opportunity tracking (charge codes)

  • Manages expectations for Group, Business Development, Corporate Development VPs including the Chief Growth Officer and the Chief Finance Officer

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Five plus years of Project Controls / Finance and or FP&A experience working for a Federal Government Contractor

  • Solid understanding of all government contract types and related contract terms and conditions

  • Understanding of FAR/DCAA/CAS compliance requirements

  • Understanding of the B&P process

  • Experience with project spend analysis

  • Familiarity with Costpoint and Cognos, including updating Project Workforce, processing timesheet corrections, running PSRs, and validating GL data

  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to work independently.

  • prior work experience using Deltek Costpoint and IBM Cognos Analytics

  • Cost and schedule variance analysis

  • PowerPoint and Excel

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree/MBA is a plus

  • PowerBI is a plus
