AWS Infrastructure helps manage the cloud elastic for AWS customers and products and the Infrastructure services help do so by keeping waste to a minimum. The supply chain automation organization owns and builds software systems that help manage the entire lifecycle of our fleet. This includes forecasting and planning for long range supply resources like power, space, networking and supply chain capacity down the optimization systems that plan for server level placement in data centers across availability zones.

Key job responsibilities

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will partner closely with SDEs, Product Managers and Business Intelligence Engineers to define and deliver world-class data solutions and products. You will be responsible for evolving our long-term roadmap of projects, defining tech stack & operational strategies, and mentoring junior Data Engineers. Your work will directly contribute to the evolution of internal Machine Learning solutions, Partner facing analytics, and Self-Service reporting.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience

• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

• Experience with SQL

• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS

• Experience mentoring team members on best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR

• Experience operating large data warehouses

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
