GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of the Maintenance I are to maintain the facilities in a condition of operating excellence to ensure their full educational use at all times. Under general supervision, performs maintenance, repair, and replacement of College facilities. Daily assignments are given under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. Driving between College locations to complete work assignments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Standard Expectations:

1. Performs general maintenance and repairs such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, concrete, drywall, and related areas. Custodial duties when assigned.
2. Conducts an ongoing program of general maintenance upkeep and repair.
3. Reports major repairs and damaged property to the Maintenance Supervisor.
4. Assures equipment is maintained in good mechanical condition by performing regular maintenance and notifying the Maintenance Supervisor of any problems.
5. Assists with complete preventive maintenance/obsolescence program with accurate record keeping for all units and equipment, as assigned.
6. Troubleshoots defective equipment and repairs/replaces it as directed.
7. Assists with general security and fire safety of the facility.
8. Complies with EPA, OSHA, ADOT, and all other federal, state, city, and district inspections and requirements.
9. Responds to emergency/non-emergency calls after hours and on weekends.
10. Works with grounds crew as assigned.
11. Removes snow and ice during winter months
12. Performs other duties as assigned
