Job Description

As a blaster, you will be responsible for blasting paint off railcars, including hopper and tank cars, using steel grit blasting. This role requires comfort with confined spaces and working at heights. You will need to climb ladders to complete tasks on top of railcars. Fall protection training, a harness, and tie-off equipment will be provided. Additionally, you must be able to complete a respirator fit test within the first two weeks of employment and wear a respirator in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Blast paint off railcars (hopper and tank cars) using steel grit blasting.

• Work in confined spaces and at heights.

• Climb ladders to perform tasks on top of railcars.

• Complete fall protection training and use provided safety equipment.

• Complete a respirator fit test within the first two weeks of employment.

• Wear a respirator while working in confined spaces.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces .

• Ability to wear respiratory protection .

• Mechanically inclined.

• Experience in industrial, sanding, blasting, production, auto body, general labor, heavy manufacturing, paint prep, or assembly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous blast experience preferred but not required.

Work Environment

You must be able to work in all conditions, including cold winters and hot summers. Shifts are Fri/Sat/Sun, 12 hours each from 3:30 PM to 3:30 AM. You will work 36 hours but be paid for 40 hours!

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
