The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing and performing tasks related to cash collections in Revenue Cycle. The specialist will research, resolve, and monitor issues within Revenue Cycle as they related to cash collections, including both pre-service and post-service collections.

Essential Duties

Monitors all facets of cash collections including pre-service estimates, payment posting, and resolving credit balances in accordance with practice protocol with an emphasis on maximizing patient satisfaction and profitability.

Monitors and handles refund requests and accounts in credit balance.

Remains informed of all government regulations and procedure affecting the revenue cycle.

Communicates trends to Patient Financial Services management.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of payer policies, regulations, and bylaws and the legal environment within which they operate.

Required Experience

Minimum Education

A qualified candidate should have three to five years of relevant experience.
