Job

As a Concrete Lab Technician at UES, you will be responsible for conducting laboratory testing on concrete and other construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. You will play a critical role in quality control by performing tests, analyzing results, and documenting findings. This position requires attention to detail, technical knowledge, and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory tests on concrete, aggregates, and other materials following ASTM, AASHTO, and other relevant standards.

  • Conduct tests such as compressive strength, slump, air and moisture content.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of test results and observations.

  • Ensure lab equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.

  • Follow proper safety procedures and industry best practices in all testing activities.

  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.

  • Communicate test results and findings to engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders.

  • Support field technicians with sample collection and testing as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience in a construction materials testing laboratory preferred.

  • Ability to use testing equipment, such as compression machines, air meters, and scales.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise testing procedures.

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials (50+ lbs.).

  • ACI (American Concrete Institute) certification is a plus or willingness to obtain certification.
