Position Description
Kinder Morgan Treating is a leading manufacturer and the largest provider of contract operated natural gas treating plants in the United States. We design and build treating and processing plants to ensure that natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons conform to sales pipeline specifications and downstream markets. Our mission is to provide the optimal solution to keep your hydrocarbons flowing.
Primary Purpose:
A technical sales position responsible for selling and leasing Kinder Morgan’s gas treating and processing equipment and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop relationships with natural gas producers and pipeline companies requiring treating and processing equipment to meet gas quality specifications, or enhance revenue.
Increase revenue and establish a winning strategy for this business segment.
Analyze market opportunities in new exploration plays including competitor analysis
Develop prospecting and lead generation strategy for new customers.
Run project economics and send out proposals offering solutions to customer needs
Negotiate commercial terms with customers during contract process.
Manage and coordinate equipment fabrication and inventory strategy with engineering and project management staff
Provide input for new product offerings and services.
Track and maintain division’s commercial metrics for weekly reports.
Position Requirements
Minimum Requirements include the following:
Education:
BBA or Engineering Degree – ME, PE, ChE
Experience / Specific Knowledge:
7+ years of industry experience in sales, business development or gas processing.
Operating or design experiences of gas processing facilities of all types and/or commercial, B.D., or Technical Product Marketing a significant plus.
Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus on attention to detail, and follow work rules.
Must have a proven track record of sales and bringing in business
Must have a good client base to sell to in the oil and gas, midstream companies, oil and gas companies and construction companies.
Must have a proven history of sales into the oil and gas market, preferably selling treating and processing equipment
Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record to the company and its insurers
Working Conditions:
Mostly office based at Houston Headquarters in downtown Houston, TX
Works closely with Manager of Construction, Manager of Engineering, VP of Business Development, VP of Engineering and Operations
Some travel is required
