Phillips 66 Director, Trade Fin & Commercial Credit in Houston, Texas

The Director, Trade Finance & Commercial Credit is responsible for developing panel of credit risk transfer and trade working capital providers, maintain counterparty level availability and pricing of current risk transfer on targeted portfolio. Supervise commercial credit analysts in execution of credit monitoring and over credit limit resolution. Execute risk mitigation as required to maintain compliance with management risk appetite.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of a panel of risk transfer providers and current availability and pricing of risk by counterparty name

  • Identify banks, credit risk insurance underwriters, and others to provide credit risk transfer and working capital on trade accounts receivable

  • Identify, develop, negotiate, and manage committed and uncommitted facilities with risk transfer providers

  • Collaborate with business units to understand business needs and identify specific use cases for risk transfer tools

  • Assist in monitoring credit portfolio thresholds

  • Execute risk mitigation transactions as required to maintain management risk appetite and liquidity objectives

  • Supervise team of commercial credit analysts providing policy guidance, monitoring, and resolution of over-credit limit conditions as well as opportunities for skills development

Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorizied to work in job posting country

  • Bachelors in Business or Business Related Field

  • Experience negotiating with banks, placing credit risk insurance policies, and/or trade finance facilities

  • Previous experience in corporate finance, credit, and contract negotiation

  • Supervisory Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Masters in Accounting

  • SAP experience

  • Strong economic modelling skills

  • Team player but also able to manage own workload with focus on key daily tasks

  • Flexible attitude

  • Commitment to accuracy

  • Able to encourage continuous improvement

  • Able to excel in an environment of constantly changing priorities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
