Honeywell Field Service Technicians in Houston, Texas

About the Role

As a Field Service Technician supporting the Remote Operation Control Center (ROCC) you will monitor and operate electrical networks, keeping safety first, then optimal level of operation, maximizing system availability. Coordinate and optimize preventive and corrective maintenance manpower deployment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Preventive and corrective maintenance teams, based on contractual aspects with every customer.

  • Monitor and operates electrical networks with multiple components, generators, loads, Solar farms and Battery Energy Storage Solutions.

  • Develops measuring methods with designated tooling, gages, acceptance equipment and processing procedures.

  • Participates in establishing operating procedures for the systems under monitoring and/or operation.

  • Develops test procedures and performs routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests and process capability studies, quality audits, project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work to assure best in class operation

  • Provides technical assistance in appropriate testing and inspection areas.

  • Analyzes processes and records, characterizes and implements proper controls on all processes.

  • Analyzes processes and inspection records to anticipate, identify, and correct problems and to establish quality levels and trends.

  • Evaluate historical and actual data to anticipate performance deviations of the electrical systems under monitoring

  • Interacts with customers, design agencies, suppliers, and internal organizations to assist/lead in resolving electrical network problems of the system under monitoring, following the process in place and under proper approvals.

  • Prepares evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, makes recommendations for and initiates improvements procedures and operational processes that improve productivity/ quality and reduce flowtime.

  • Evaluates opportunities to improve the processes

  • Conducts activities in a safely and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment.

  • Takes actions necessary to "stop" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified.

You Must Have

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in electrical systems operation

  • Low level impact NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) certification or equivalent

  • Developed leadership skills

  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate remote maintenance crews

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor of Science degree from accredited Engineering program, bachelors of science degree in Physics from and accredited program or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated application of design, development, evaluation, and quality control techniques to routine through engineering projects.

  • Demonstrated application of analyzing engineering designs and specifications to achieve efficient and reliable manufacturing or acceptance processes.
