Location: Houston, TX, 77002

Pay Rate: $15.00 an hour

Shift: 10 am-6 pm

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Food Service Worker to join our team at TX Citywide Professional Services. This position plays a crucial role in the preparation, distribution, and service of meals to inmates within a secure correctional environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a structured and regulated setting.

Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements.

Portion and distribute food following portion control guidelines.

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, and dining areas.

Follow all safety and security protocols, including handling and storing food safely.

Adhere to dietary restrictions and special meal requests as directed.

Assist in inventory management and stock rotation of food supplies.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in food service or kitchen environment strongly preferred.

Knowledge of food safety guidelines and regulations.

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with inmates and staff.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Additional Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years of age or older to apply

Ability to stand throughout your shift.

Ability to work in a secure correctional facility environment.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Must pass Background, Drug, and TB Screen

Must be able to speak or read instructions in English

Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25lbs.

Any fees including toll fees owed to Harris County must be cleared before applying

No Expired IDs/License

Must acquire a Food Handler's Certification
