MD Anderson Cancer Center Grant Program Coordinator Biostatistics in Houston, Texas

The Grant Program Coordinator provides professional assistance to the Department of Biostatistics in the areas of account reconciliation, grant review, grant coordination, effort reporting, and grant/contract financial reporting. The Grant Program Coordinator will also assist with the reconciliation and financial reporting of non-grant funding sources.

Overall responsibility is to assist the Research Department Administrator with grant/contract administrative and financial issues (pre and post award) within the Department of Biostatisics. Requires the ability to use good interpersonal and problem-solving skills, work independently, and handle complex issues in a large research department.

The candidate must master the use of Coeus and attend and consume all available grant related MDACC training as it comes available and/or as operational time will allow.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

Pre-Award Services

Assists faculty with grant budget preparation and other proposal preparation items as needed.

Works with administrative assistants to ensure Biosketches and "Other Support" documentation is current and accurate.

Tracks proposal status.

ePAF Generation. Prepares change of source of funds and change of funding end date ePAFs. Maintains departmental ePAF list to keep track of all historical, current, and future ePAFs. Reviews institutional and departmental reports to add upcoming changes to list. Prepares ePAFs monthly and ensures processed correctly.

Post Award Services

Reconciles grant activity. Provides reports to the Research Department Administrator, Chair and faculty as requested regarding grant status including financial projections. Works with other departments to monitor Biostatistics faculty effort on grants managed by other departments. Will assist with effort reporting and reconciliation of effort related issues. Will assist with reconciling and reporting of non-grant funding sources.

SPORE Progress Reports preparation. These activities include data gathering regarding publications as well as tracking and reporting of expenditures. May assist in the preparation of actual progress reports and other SPORE related materials.

Effort Reporting. Prepare effort cards prior to faculty certification, works with faculty and G&C as needed to ensure cards are certified correctly, and assist with the review of letters as needed to match actual and planned effort

May assist with other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor's degree.

Preferred: Master's degree.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Three years of extensive administrative experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one year basis. With preferred degree, one year of experience required.

Preferred: Pre and Post grant experience.
