MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoctoral Fellow - Biostatistics in Houston, Texas

The Department of Biostatistics at UT MDACC has an open post-doc position in biostatistics methodology research and application. The primary focus will be to develop novel methods for analyzing "omics" data, including gene expression and microbiome data, and to produce software and write publications to disseminate these methods. The position will involve close collaboration with basic science and clinical researchers. The post-doc will work under the primary supervision of Dr. Christine Peterson.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Gain expertise in cutting-edge Bayesian modeling and computation; Develop strong programming skills; Acquire experience in R and R-Shiny; Collaborate with clinical and basic science researchers; Gain experience with the analysis of high-dimensional data.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have a recent PhD in biostatistics or statistics from a reputed University/Institute or within 1 year of graduation. A solid background in statistical theory and Bayesian methods and computation is preferred. Experience with gene expression, microbiome, or other omics data is desirable.

POSITION INFORMATION

MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 (https://trainees.mdanderson.org/apply/mdaPostdoctoralFellowStipendFY24.pdf) . depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience. MD Anderson trainee compensation also includes:
