Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)Job Description

This role is an administrative LVN role focused on providing exceptional care and service to pediatric patients. The position offers an opportunity to work with a premier pediatric medical group in Orange County and make a positive impact on the healthcare of children and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Verifying vaccines.

  • Acting as a liaison between providers and patients regarding their labs.

  • Filling prescriptions.

  • Backing up MA team responsibilities if busy, such as rooming patients, taking and documenting vital signs, and assisting the provider with medical exams.

  • Performing accurate charting, assessments, and intervention and follow-up per the scope of practice.

  • Collaborating with the Medical Provider regarding phone messages, pharmacy refills, and ancillary test results in a timely manner.

  • Maintaining current knowledge and capability to perform all clinical procedures and equipment maintenance (e.g., vision, audiometry, lab testing).

  • Responding to and actively participating in all clinical emergencies and maintenance of emergency equipment.

  • Maintaining optimum patient confidentiality and safety.

  • Adhering to infection control, universal precautions, and using personal protective equipment as needed for all patient care procedures, maintenance of equipment, and disposal of waste.

  • Performing any additional miscellaneous duties as requested by the management team within the scope of knowledge and ability.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of vaccines.

  • Must love working with children.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to problem solve to logical conclusions and demonstrate initiative and responsibility.

  • Effective and clear communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail.

  • Preferred 2+ years of pediatric clinic experience.

  • Active CPR certification.

  • BLS AHA certification.

  • Pediatric experience: 1 year (required).

  • LVN license (preferred).

  • MA certification (required).

Work Environment

The position operates Monday to Friday in an office setting. The Huntington Beach location has 6 providers (with a maximum of 4 per day and a minimum of 2). Each provider sees 22-24 patients per day. Support staff includes 3 in the back office (formerly 6) and 4 in the front office. Providers have a long history with their patients, some of whom have grown up with the practice from infancy to 18 years old. The role requires someone interested in working long-term and dedicated to delivering high-quality care.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $35.00/hr.
