Comfort Systems USA Midsouth Assistant Controller in Huntsville, Alabama

Overview:Comfort Systems USA Mid South is looking for someone that is well organized, energetic, innovative, and is looking for a great opportunity to grow. As Assistant Controller, you will support the Controller, CFO and the accounting operations of the Company. This includes but not limited to supporting of the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The Assistant Controller is also be involved with cash management procedures, monthly cost review meetings, and elements of risk management. Principal Responsibilities Leadership

Involved with the accounting functions to maintain and enforce efficient and thoroughly documented systems of accounting policies and procedures.

Transactions Oversee business taxes and assist as needed with payroll. Ensures monthly bank reconciliations are completed timely. Involved with mechanical construction job cost accounting / percentage of completion of contracts. Assist with accounts receivables and cash flow analysis to ensure timely collections. Assist with the maintenance of the chart of accounts. Involved with maintaining an orderly accounting filing system. Assist with a system of controls over accounting transactions. Assist with fleet management, monthly fuel tracking, and annual tag renewals.

Reporting Issue timely and complete financial statements for corporate and local management.

Compliance Involved with coordinating the provision of information to internal and external auditors for the annual audit. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Comply with and enforce all Comfort Systems USA policies and procedures. Support Comfort Systems USA by the timely provision of required information for filing of quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission, or as directed to support CSUSA requirements towards same.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of two (2) years of experience within accounting. Experience working within the commercial construction and/or service industry preferred. Highly knowledgeable of Microsoft excel to include pivot tables, charts and analysis. Knowledge of accounting software, preferably COINs. CPA license, or willingness to obtain in the future. Experience directly and/or indirectly managing employees, preferred. Ability to travel less than 20% of the time, including overnight travel, to attend meetings and training as needed. Ability to work periodic evenings, overtime and/or weekends, as needed.
