Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineeringfrom an ABET accredited school required (aerospace, mechanical or industrial/systems desired). Master's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school desired (aerospace, mechanical, or industrial/systems).

Months/Years of Experience:

Nine (9) years of combined engineering and technical experience, including six (6) years of project experience; or a Master's Degree in the designated technical area of specialization from an accredited* university and seven (7) years of combined engineering and technical experience, including four (4) years of project experience; or a PhD in Engineering in the appropriate area of specialization or related discipline from an accredited* college/university and five (5) years of applicable experience, including two (2) years of project experience, performing engineering, analysis, and related functions in research, development, test and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems. Areas of specialization may include electromagnetics, electro-optics, optical sciences, electronic circuits, modeling and simulation, infrared scene projection, structural analysis, radar systems, high voltage systems, mechanical systems, data acquisition, stockpile testing, HWIL, HPC, or IR scene generation. Additional specialization requirements: a. Aerospace - Experience must include performing engineering duties in designing, constructing, and testing aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft; conducting basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment to aircraft design and manufacture; and performing engineering, analysis, and related functions in research, development, test and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems.

Required Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship.Must be able to obtain and maintain an FAA Class III medical certificate. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security Clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

Graduate of US Naval Test Pilot School or equivalent course desired. Intermediate competency with MS Office, programming, Matlab, and technical writing desired.

Duties:

Conduct developmental flight test for Utility/Assault helicopter platforms.

Perform flight test engineer duties as crewmember on flight test aircraft.

Monitor in-flight test activities, via real-time telemetry systems or as an aircraft crewmember.

Work as part of a diverse team of contractor, military, and civilian experimental test pilots and engineers.

Prepare pre-test documentation (test plans, test readiness reviews, safety reviews).

Provide technical expertise with regard to the method of test that will best achieve the test objectives.

Perform in-depth engineering data reduction and analysis.

Write comprehensive test reports to provide usable, accurate, and readily-interpretable results.

Prepare/deliver presentations to colleagues, subordinates, and government representatives.
