Ai Signal Research, Inc. (ASRI) Flight Test Engineer, Sr. (AX1453) in Huntsville, Alabama
Education:
BA/BS Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in the designated technical area of specialization from an accredited university.
Months/Years of Experience:
Six (6) years of experience performing engineering duties in designing, constructing, and testing aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft; and conducting basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment to aircraft design and manufacture; or a Master's Degree in Engineering in the appropriate area of specialization or related discipline from an accredited college/university and four (4) years of applicable experience; or a PhD in Engineering in the appropriate area of specialization or related discipline from an accredited* college/university, and two (2) years of applicable experience.
Required Qualifications:
Must be able to obtain and maintain an FAA Class III medical certificate. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. U.S. Citizenship.
Desired Qualifications:
Graduate of US Naval Test Pilot School or equivalent course. Intermediate competency with MS Office, programming, Matlab, and technical writing.
Duties:
Conduct developmental flight test for Utility/Assault helicopter platforms.
Perform flight test engineer duties as crewmember on flight test aircraft.
Monitor in-flight test activities, via real-time telemetry systems or as an aircraft crewmember.
Work as part of a diverse team of contractor, military, and civilian experimental test pilots and engineers.
Prepare pre-test documentation (test plans, test readiness reviews, safety reviews).
Provide technical expertise with regard to the method of test that will best achieve the test objectives.
Perform in-depth engineering data reduction and analysis.
Write comprehensive test reports to provide usable, accurate, and readily-interpretable results.
Prepare/deliver presentations to colleagues, subordinates, and government representatives. * Travel up to 33% may be required.
