Position Overview

Navistar is seeking a Lead Controls/Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our team at our Powertrain Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, AL!

The Lead Controls/Manufacturing Test Engineer will be an integral part of the planning, development, and implementation of test equipment and processes to support the launch of a new powertrain platform.

Responsibilities

• Support Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in assembly layouts, equipment purchase, qualification, and installation

• Act and represent Navistar in a global production team

• Be the voice of production to product development

• Perform research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, test sequence, test methods and production equipment investments

• Standardizes manufacturing processes by benchmarking other manufacturing facilities

• Coordinate pre-series build verifications and production launch of the new product including establishing goals, training team member, and evaluate and act on results

• Assist in the accomplishment of plant quality objectives

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• At least 5 years of product manufacturing experience

OR

• Master’s degree

• At least 3 years of product manufacturing experience

OR

• At least 7 years of product manufacturing experience

Additional Requirements

• Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. • Proficient with component testing and verification

• Proficient with dyno test equipment

• Proficient with developing test strategies

• Proficient with leak testing

• Proficient with developing test programs

• Competence with maintaining and follow up project budgets

• Competence with developing and maintaining project timelines

• Competence with Microsoft Office products

• Experience with launching new products

• Experience with electric torque controlled fastening tools

• Experience with CAD and 3D modeling tools preferred Siemens NX

• Experience with AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles)

• Experience with presenting resolutions to quality issues

• Experience with Robotic Assembly systems

• Ability, and willingness to lead and guide other professionals or colleagues

• Ability, and willingness to learn from others
