Actalent Construction Project Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Title: Construction Project ManagerJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects or a single project with a budget of $15 million or more.

Responsibilities

  • Study plans and specifications.

  • Generate submittal log and project schedule.

  • Conduct preconstruction meetings.

  • Ensure permits are in place and contracts are executed.

  • Monitor subcontracts, insurance certificates, and SDS sheets.

  • Manage submittal process and shop drawings.

  • Review daily logs, schedules, and safety inspection forms.

  • Conduct progress meetings and update schedules.

  • Inspect jobsite for safety hazards.

  • Monitor first aid kit needs and issue safety warnings.

  • Report 'near-miss' accidents and document safety meetings.

  • Monitor budgets and manhours for self-performed activities.

  • Plan major self-performed activities with Superintendent and Foreman.

  • Ensure installation meets plans and specifications.

  • Request additional information from Design Team if needed.

  • Review and approve timecards, invoices, and pay applications.

  • Generate draft pay applications and proposals.

  • Administer change orders and update job cost projections.

  • Assemble as-built drawings, owner's instructions, and maintenance manuals.

  • Develop project completion schedule and conduct punch list inspection.

  • Deliver completed As-Builts and O&M Manuals to owner.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (preferred) or any college degree.

  • 10 years combined experience as APM and PM.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with budget totals of $15 million plus.

  • Ground-up project experience.

  • Experience with scheduling software (currently using Asta Power Project).

  • Proficiency in MS Suites.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 Hour Certification (preferred).

  • Bilingual.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to thoroughly review plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Problem-Solving: Skill in identifying issues early and developing effective solutions.

  • Leadership: Capability to lead and coordinate with a diverse team, including subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Documentation: Proficiency in maintaining detailed records of project activities, changes, and communications.

  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.

  • Experience with Safety Management: Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to enforce safety standards on the jobsite.

  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting.

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with construction management software and tools.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Awareness of local building codes, permitting processes, and regulatory requirements.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with owners, architects, and other stakeholders.

Work Environment

The role requires working 5 days in the office. The work hours are Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 5 pm and Friday from 8 am to 3 pm. The company values a collaborative environment and often has happy hours on Fridays at 3 pm. Leadership and owners started with the company as Project Engineers and worked their way up, fostering a culture of growth and opportunity.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
