Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician

Job Description

As a Mechanical Assembly Technician, you will measure product pulled for assembly, perform visual inspections, clean balls, and take internal clearance measurements. You will also perform part marking with chemical or laser etching equipment, deliver finished products for quality verification or shipment, complete inspection reports, and shop travelers as required. Basic math skills and the ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Measure product pulled for assembly.

  • Perform visual inspection and clean balls.

  • Take internal clearance measurements.

  • Perform part marking with chemical or laser etching equipment.

  • Deliver finished product for quality verification or shipment.

  • Complete inspection reports and shop travelers.

  • Perform basic math including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Proficiency with hand tools

  • Experience in mechanical assembly

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and environment

  • Ability to read drawings, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Proficiency with calipers and micrometers

  • Ability to frequently lift 25 lbs and occasionally lift 70 lbs

  • Finger dexterity

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1 year of relevant experience

  • Experience with bearing assembly is preferred

  • Ability to read blueprints

Work Environment

You will be working for a rollerball bearing manufacturer. The role involves working with various manufacturing technologies and equipment, and adhering to safety and operating procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Issaquah, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
