Accounts Payable Manager

Hello! Our large financial services client is looking for an accounts payable manager to join their team. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience managing KPIs, internal controls, SOX compliance, and leading the charge for process improvement initiatives in order to create a more efficient payables process. This position is hybrid, requiring 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.

Job Description:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Accounts Payable team ensuring the team is aligned with the overall financial goals of the organization. Establish and implement strategic goals for the accounts payable function, focusing on operational efficiency, automation, and financial accuracy. Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and financial regulations related to vendor payments.

  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including vendor payments, invoice processing, and reconciliation. Continuously evaluate and enhance accounts payable processes, implementing best practices to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability. Identify opportunities for automation and technology implementation to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, and minimize errors.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely payments and resolving any payment discrepancies. Collaborate closely with Procurement, Finance, and other departments to ensure the smooth flow of information and alignment on financial objectives. Serve as the escalation point for any complex or high-priority accounts payable issues, including vendor disputes, payment errors, and reconciliations.

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting of all accounts payable transactions, including month-end and year-end close processes. Monitor cash flow and work with the treasury and finance teams to manage payment schedules and optimize working capital. Oversee the preparation of audit documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements.

  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard against financial risks, including fraud, overpayments, and unauthorized transactions. Develop and enforce policies and procedures that ensure the integrity and security of the accounts payable function.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance

  • Process improvement experience

  • Upskilling reconciliations process for AP during month end close

  • Internal controls / SOX Compliance

  • Management of large scale accounts payable departments

  • Manage / Track KPIs to reach team objectives

Job Type:

  • This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

  • This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days on-site and 1 day remote.
