Description

Summary:

Repairs, maintains, and instralls, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operator manuals, and manufacturers specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pumps, and other production equipment, using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring and testing instruments.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

• Dismantle machinery to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hooks, cranes, had tools, and power tools.

• Repair or replace defective parts.

• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rulers, micrometers, and plumb bobs.

• Assemble machines and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundations or other structures.

Qualifications

Physical:

• Outdoors, may involve extreme hot or cold weather conditions.

• Spends most of the workday standing on feet, requires stooping, bending, squatting.

• May require working in cramped and uncomfortable positions.

• May be required to climb about machinery and climb ladders, scaffolds, and catwalks.

• Strength rating: Heavy
