Amazon Sr. Business Operations Analyst, WWPS National Security & Defense in Jessup, Maryland

Description

AWS is seeking a driven and talented Business Operations Lead to play a critical role on our Worldwide Public Sector National Security and Defense Business Operations team. This role is an important point of coordination between the WWPS government sales teams, finance teams, and AWS technical organizations, and is responsible for driving scalable operational mechanisms, creating strategic narratives, and running the operational cadence to drive growth in secure government regions.

Data analysis is at the core of Amazon’s culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision-making and strategy for our organization. Close partnership with leaders and organizations outside of your immediate team will be necessary, as you will compile data and information that will influence decisions at the most senior levels in Amazon. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical abilities, strong business acumen and judgement, and superior communication skills, along with a passion for pursuing operational excellence.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and manage dashboards, scorecards, and performance reporting for senior Sales Directors, VPs, and the WWPS leadership team in order to manage and accelerate the business

• Extract raw usage and financial data from business databases and data warehouse, and perform analytics to produce meaningful insights that influence decision making

• Support stakeholders with analysis, ad-hoc data requests, meetings/presentations, and strategic planning activities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, create new solutions, and resolve complex problems

• Evaluate and advise on ways to improve data quality and ensure data integrity and consistency across multiple domains/systems

About the team

The AWS Worldwide Public Sector National Security and Defense Business Operations team drives strategic program usage, benefits, and sales execution for AWS Sellers working in the National Security and Defense Markets, accelerating revenue growth, profitability, and transformation with Public Sector end customers. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience conducting sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables, messages, and presentations

  • Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent

  • Experience developing and implementing systems/tools utilized for CRM, variable compensation, revenue reporting, forecasting, Salesforce automation, etc.

  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent

  • Experience working within a high-growth, technology company

  • Experience using Salesforce (or other CRM tool) or BI tools

  • Experience presenting to senior leadership

  • Experience conducting large scale data analysis to support business decision making

  • Motivated, proactive self-starter with proven track record of exhibiting sound business judgement

  • Able to operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced organization

  • Experience using SQL and advanced data mining techniques

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
