Google Performance Solutions Specialist, Sales in Johannesburg, South Africa

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in digital media, sales, marketing, or product roles.

  • Experience working with digital organizations.

  • Experience identifying and recommending solutions to improve customer strategy, and working with senior leadership.

  • Experience managing Google Ads campaigns for brands.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using product and domain expertise to increase product adoption.

  • Experience identifying and recommending new processes, procedures, and methods for product adoption strategy, addressing future needs by partnering and collaborating with regional partners/stakeholders.

  • Ability to be a thought leader of Google product and competitive landscape.

  • Ability to influence and build relationships across teams and functions to address customer needs and close agreements.

The Sub Saharan Africa Specialist team combines a diverse set of product expertise to build comprehensive digital marketing solutions for the biggest advertisers in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our aim is to ensure that they have the right media strategy and measurement for digital campaigns that drive real, measurable business outcomes.

The Performance Solutions Lead role is a critical bridge between Product and Sales at Google. You will use thought leadership on product innovation for custom client solutions, enabling our advertisers to get the most out of their spend with Google.

Our Large Customer Sales teams partner closely with many of the world’s biggest advertisers and agencies to develop digital solutions that build businesses and brands. We enjoy a bird’s eye view on the massive transformation occurring as advertising shifts to mobile and online platforms. We're uniquely situated to help shape how companies grow their businesses in the digital age. We advise clients on Google's broad range of products across search, video and mobile to help them connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences.

  • Establish and execute sales/product strategies within functions to specific clients to meet desired outcomes (e.g., business generation, product adoption, etc.), align product and business strategies to develop a roadmap, and provide feedback to inform, align product, and go-to market strategies.

  • Identify business growth opportunities within the market and for customers, and work with internal stakeholders to determine and drive the business growth, potential of opportunities, marketing efficiency, and the incremental investment recommended to achieve customer business outcomes.

  • Manage expectations and maintain relationships with stakeholders to build rapport and credibility and plan, create, deliver strategy, and provide input to help stakeholders achieve project goals.

  • Share and scale best practices, learnings, and business strategies (e.g., objection handling, pitching, business techniques) to upscale accounts, and link solutions and best practices to meet customer and Google business needs.
