    Position Summary

The Program Director is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of educational services at the Johnstown Day School. This involves the operation of a Private Academic Licensed School. The Program Director is responsible for the supervision of service delivery, staff adherence to internal policy as well as external regulation and licensing requirements, sound fiscal operation, and communication and liaison with local community groups, schools, service agencies, and local state offices and courts of the county and state.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversight of program operation

  • Ensure that all program activities and staff practices are in compliance with regulations, policies and procedures

  • Develop, implement and adhere to the program budget

  • Develop and implement effective staff development strategies

  • Implement a service delivery system that represents state of the art, best practice guidelines

  • Develop and implement effective strategies aimed at program diversification and expansion

  • Maintain professional affiliations and connectedness to others in the field through conferences, workshops, and associations

    Qualifications

  • Clearances. State Police; FBI clearance; child abuse clearance; CPSL Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training; any additional background checks/clearances required by state governing bodies.

  • Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.

    Working Conditions

  • Physical Demands. This position requires a moderate to high level of physical activity. Employee must meet minimum requirements for Hearing, Speech and Vision.

  • Working Hours. As assigned

Qualifications

Experience

Required

  • Special Education and supervisory certification or principal certification are required. Will consider applicants who do not currently have a supervisory certification, with the understanding that they will need to obtain this upon accepting the position.

  • Working knowledge of the regulations and guidelines of Pennsylvania Department of Education, DHS, OMHSA as related to Private Academic Licensing

  • 5 years: Experience working with children with severe emotional and behavioral issues
