Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Shipping Manager. You will be responsible for leading the shipping team. Your team will ensure the delivery of finished product is one time and accurate.
What you'll do:
- Identify safety and work procedures; prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
- Examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Review pipe orders to determine truckload space/percentage and if a fill is needed.
- Coordinate product needs with Production Manager/Plant Manager as while as CSR.
- Prepare daily shipping schedule and freight rates for the carriers and follow up to ensure the loads are covered.
- Invoice all shipments and create shipping document such as BOL and Packing Lists.
What you'll bring:
- Associate degree and minimum of 3 year of related experience and/or training in the field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Safety, time management, planning and detailed organizational skills.
- Effective decision making and problem-solving abilities.
- Shipping/material handling experience with knowledge of shipping and receiving principles, practices and procedures including experience working with shipping and receiving database/software.
Within 3 months, you'll:
- Complete your Atkore immersion program.
- Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
- Gain an understanding of your team.
- Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team owns.
Within 6-months, you'll:
- Update training materials and procedures.
- Partner with Safety and HR to investigate and provide corrective measures for on-the-job accidents, injuries, production issues, and HR issues.
- Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.
Within 12-months, you'll:
- Be managing an efficient team that delivers Atkore's strategy.
- Create and update reports, training materials and documentation.
- Have meaningful performance conversations with your direct reports.
- Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely
