Queen's Health System Engineer / Security Officer - Engineering Facility Services (Big Island, Full-Time) in Kamuela, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs a variety of duties to insure reliable, safe and efficient operation, maintenance and repair of equipment, facilities, and/or systems in areas which may include but not limited to Carpentry, Refrigeration /Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Electrical, Machine work, Painting, Locksmithing, General Maintenance, Utility Plant.
• Performs duties in new/renovation facilities projects as assigned.
• Performs duties of a Security Officer.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Standing, walking, stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Continuous: carrying usual weight of 15 pounds.
• Occasional: sitting, kneeling, crawling, squatting, twisting body, reaching above and at shoulder level. carrying up to 25 pounds; reaching above and below shoulder level; frequent gripping of an object. Depending on area of assignment: lifting maximum weight of 50 pounds; pushing/pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Subjected to noise/vibration from power hand tools required in area of assignment.
• Some exposure to electrical current, hazardous materials, fumes, and odors.
• Works a weekly rotating schedule and on-call schedule.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current State of Hawaii Guard Registration card.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required in accordance with Hawaii state law rules and regulations.
• Driver’s abstract or evidence of good driving record.
• Current BLS certification.
• State of Hawaii trade licensed preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Graduate of Trade or Vocational school in HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical;
OR
• Five (5) years work experience in HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical.
• Experience to demonstrate:
o Ability to do calculations, cost estimates, assess job priorities, give and receive instructions, and write reports.
o Ability to speak, read, write and understand English, both orally and in writing.
