Kellanova Engineering Project Manager in Kansas City, Kansas

As an Engineering Project Manager, you will inspire others as a manager of people and execute our capital projects within our Kansas City plant. We are looking for some who is ready to be heavily involved in the day-to-day engineering and construction projects, where your keen ability to influence and plan will be what it takes to get the job done. In this exciting role, you will interact with cross functional teams in engineering as well as at corporate and plant levels.

This highly visible role will play an integral part in ensuring vital projects are executed to success. Highly successful individuals can grow their careers into roles with corporate engineering, senior project manager, or plant operations roles.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and Plan – You ’ ll be leading our capital and capital expense planning, forecasting, and tracking processes for the facility related to Cost, Schedule, Performance, People Safety, and Food Safety targets.

  • Building Teams - Interact with design engineering, construction contractor, and drawing management personnel [typically Engineering Service Providers (ESPs)] to drive alignment with business partners across the North America region.

  • Internal and External Partners – You ’ ll leverage your people skills as you meet with internal and external customers including our Supply Chain and Engineering leadership, Process, and Packaging teams. External teams include Engineering and Construction Management Service Providers, Consulting Firms, Equipment Vendors, and Co-manufacturers – we hope you like collaboration!

  • Financial Responsibility — Understand and apply Kellanova financial policies related to classification, asset set-up, and automation guidelines, with a focus on project justification and productivity metrics.

    We’re Looking for Someone With

  • High school/GED with extensive relevant technical experience.

  • Experience with direct supervision of contractors.

  • Experience defining and leading project execution under multiple contracting strategies.

  • Strong technical aptitude both mechanical and electrical.

  • Capable of reading drawings, and working with AutoCAD

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and other project management software applications.

  • Demonstrated strong project fundamentals and work processes (cost/schedule tracking, change management, risk identification, options analysis, etc.).

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
