Position Overview

The Sr Manager, External Reporting actively contributes to the preparation and review of all external financial reporting requirements of the Company, ensures accounting policies and controls comply with GAAP principles, lead contact with external auditors, provide accounting support to internal finance groups, and assist with oversight of subsidiary and affiliate accounting and finance responsibilities. In this capacity, the Sr Manager acts as GAAP accounting subject matter expert for the company.

Job Description

• Develop and manage the quarterly timetable for quarterly and annual external reporting, including : reporting requirements and timing, investor calls, pre-call reviews, script reviews, external audit reviews

• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statement consolidations in accordance with GAAP, quarterly financial statement filings, and quarterly Board of Directors and external auditor presentations.

• Lead communication with, and support for external auditors.

• Perform technical research and conclude on complex accounting issues through discussions with management and preparation of memoranda, evaluate recently issued Accounting standards and analyze the impact on the Company, work with external auditors, and communicate accounting changes to internal accounting groups.

• Maintain and update the Company's accounting policies to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.

• Ensure controls/internal audit activities are completed by leading quarterly reviews of balance sheet reconciliations, preparing complex account reconciliations, as well as documenting and controlling adherence to company policies and procedures

• Provide support to quarterly P&L and Balance Sheet forecast process

• Recruit, manage and develop employees including setting objectives, assessing performance, training and developing team members.

• Office: Office Temperature (65F to 75F)

• Open to hybrid or fully remote candidates. Fully remote candidates should reside in the New England area and be willing to come onsite at least once a quarter

Skills

• Specialized Knowledge: Financial systems and software (e.g. GL package, Financial reporting system) and Excel

• Special Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills

• CPA License Required

Experience

• 7+ years of professional or corporate accounting experience.

• Experience managing a team required

• ASC 842 lease accounting - at least 2 years experience required

• Public accounting experience with Big 4 or regional firm preferred

Bachelor's Degree - Accounting, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - American Institute of CPAs and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Master's Degree - Accounting
