Salary 20.00

Hours Part-time, include requirement and total hours per week - not to exceed 19.5 hours per week

Summary of Position

To communicate with and work under the direction of the program director/coordinator. To provide necessary instruction to EMT and Paramedic students for successful completion of the lab/clinical portion of the course for certification in Texas and NREMT .

Minimum Required Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.

• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Applied Science, Paramedic Technology/or a related field.

• Current Certification as a Paramedic in Texas and/or NREMT -P certification with privileges to practice in Texas.

• Current EMS Instructor certification in Texas is preferred; must be able to obtain in one year of hire.

• Current ACLS , ITLS / PHTLS , PALS , and/or Newborn Resuscitation Course Certification, Provider and/or Instructor preferred.

Minimum Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an EMT -Paramedic.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of Paramedic/ EMT National EMS Education Standards and TDSHS requirements necessary for training/certification in Texas and NREMT .

• Knowledge of educational principles and instructional methods of teaching.

• Knowledge of state and national regulatory agency requirements.

• Ability to teach Emergency Medical Technology students and assist in the coordination of the didactic, lab, clinical and/or field internship instruction.

• Teaching experience to deliver content, skills instruction and remediation.

• Ability to engage student interest to support a variety of learning styles.

• Guide and evaluate students in the classroom, lab and clinical area.

• Ability to communicate with students, agency personnel, and college personnel.

• Maintain standard of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.

• Ability to use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues to enhance learning as appropriate.

• Knowledge of Blackboard and Web Advisor Software for instructional purposes.

• Familiar with Internet research, web browsers, Email messaging, and other links pertaining to Emergency Medical Services.

• Flexible, dependable-able to work with students enrolled in the Emergency Medical Technology Program.

• Demonstrate competence in all areas of EMT and Paramedic pre-hospital care.

• Function as a member of the Emergency Medical Technology team, led by a program director/coordinator.
