Description

The Arc Mid-Hudson, recognized as a leader in our field and one of the largest employers in the Hudson Valley, has a new opportunity for a Senior Accountant.

Located in our Administrative offices in Kingston, this seasoned Accounting professional will perform general accounting functions, reconciliations, prepare internal and external reports, using various accounting software. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Preparation of ad hoc reports and special assignments as assigned by the CFO or Director of Finance.

  • Reviewing bank statements monthly ensuring reconciliation to the general ledger.

  • Assisting with the preparation of the yearly budget and projections.

  • Preparing year-end audit work papers as assigned by Director of Finance.

  • Assisting Director of Finance with month-end closing including journal entries, allocations and preparation and review of monthly financials as necessary.

  • Responsible for reconciliation of key accounts monthly and review of the quarterly analyses.

  • Reconciling assigned balance sheet accounts monthly with supporting work papers.

  • Assisting with the preparation of the Consolidated Fiscal Report (CFR).

  • Reviewing program expenses monthly for non-allowable items and improper coding ensuring trends are reasonable.

  • Reviewing and recording transactions for the business center including but not limited to the Bistro, Art Center and other business center items.

  • Preparing monthly transactions needed to complete monthly financial statements for Arc Apartments or others as assigned.

  • Completing tasks necessary for assigned contracts with County, State or OPWDD. Shall include the management of contract documents, renewals, quarterly reports and vouchers for payment, budget modifications and account reconciliations for associated general ledger accounts.

    HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday/days

    STARTING SALARY: $ 80,000 to $ 95,000 per year, based on relevant experience and education

Minimum Requirements

  • BS Degree in Accounting required with 5+ years accounting experience.

  • Collaborative, hands-on style with colleagues at all levels required.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Must be experienced in and able to demonstrate proficiency with computerized software applications.

  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.

  • Experience with OPWDD and/or SED funding sources preferred but not necessary
