JOB SUMMARY

The Subcontract Manager leverages extensive industry experience to analyze and propose effective supply chain solutions. This role involves in-depth understanding of key commodity markets, distribution networks, transportation methods, and contract manufacturer operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiate and maintain Long Term Agreements with significant monetary value to meet quality, schedule, and cost targets. Coordinate with internal and external resources to define technical, quality, legal, and financial requirements.

  • Establish global sources of supply and evaluate relative supplier risks, along with developing risk mitigation strategies. Facilitate buy-in for work transfers to achieve company objectives.

  • Coordinate with established contacts at ATRO companies to develop both short-term and long-term supply solutions.

  • Build strong relationships with supply chain partners, adapting to identified risks, incorporating joint innovation programs, and fostering supplier development. Enhance customer intimacy within the supply chain tiers.

  • Monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to optimize the lowest total acquisition cost.

  • Resolve quality, schedule, or cost issues by coordinating supply chain activities across multiple levels.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to other Supply Chain team members and early career associates, including Supplier Quality Engineering and Operations.

  • As a Contract Manufacturer (CM) Focal, work with the Contract Manufacturer to mitigate component shortages by employing company processes, guidelines, and tools such as the SRM/CRM process and IHS component search system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and/or a combination of certifications (APICS and/or CPSM) and/or 8-10 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment.

  • Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

  • Demonstrated understanding of supplier management strategies.

  • Demonstrated understanding of FAR/DFAR and experience in assessing proposal compliance.

  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Product Life Management (PLM) systems.

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible .

  • An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis.

Base salary range is $94,208 - $141,313 per year.

At Astronics AES, it is more typical for an individual to be hired closer to the mid-point than near the top of the range.

Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
