County of Armstrong Victim/Witness Secretary - Full-Time - District Attorney's Office in KITTANNING, Pennsylvania

Overall Responsibilities:  To perform a variety of clerical duties including, but not limited to, notifying Victims of Court proceedings and discussing case status while the Victim/Witness Coordinator is away from the office. This responsibility shall be served regardless the age of the offender. Confidentiality pertaining to records and victim information is a must.  Duties include, but are not limited to:  Assist the Victim/Witness Coordinator with clerical duties such as typing and preparing and/or filing notifications to victims/witnesses regarding hearing information.  Gain working knowledge of the Prosecutor's Management Application.  Clarification of Victim Impact Statements and Victim Claim Forms for Restitution mailings from the Victim/Witness Coordinator. Shall become familiar with the PCCD standards and procedures. Assist the Victim/Witness Coordinator with the scheduling of the victim/witness during the trial per and/or Fact-Finding Hearings and notification of continuances.  Assist the Victim/Witness Coordinator with the paperwork in preparation for criminal and juvenile proceedings.  Assist the Victim/Witness Coordinator with calling Police Departments for reports and/or laboratories for invoices.  Assist the Victim/Witness Coordinator with compiling restitution data to be considered for inclusion in Court Orders.  Be familiar with the types and extent of the services offered and provided to victim/witnesses to better assist the Victim/Witness Coordinator with keeping accurate records and to better assist victim/witnesses with related questions.

Must have proof of Criminal Background/Child Abuse Clearances and have FBI fingerprinting complete prior to employment.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:  High school diploma plus computer skills and training. 

WORK EXPERIENCE:  2 to 4 years' experience working in the criminal justice or human services system or related field, or any acceptable combination of experience and training.
