Hyatt Sous Chef - Steamer - Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown in KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia
Description:
You will be responsible for overseeing all steaming station operations, ensuring the preparation of high quality Chinese dishes. This role involves managing a team of chefs, maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, and ensuring efficiency in kitchen operations. The Sous Chef works closely with the Chinese Chef De Cuisine to develop authentic and innovative steamed dishes, maintain consistency in food quality and train associates in Chinese steaming techniques. Strong in leadership skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
Qualifications:
• Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (eg: HACCP) or relevant certifications.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in a professional Chinese kitchen with at least some time in luxury hotel or fine-dining setting.
• Strong expertise in Chinese steaming techniques including dim sum, seafood and other steamed delicacies.
