Summary

Incumbents are fully qualified to execute job/role accountabilities working independently on most aspects of the job. Work is performed within established professional standards and practices. Tasks are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required to complete recurring assignments independently and to determine the best methods to follow to complete assignments. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may have a negative impact on the divisions/departments operations, schedules, and/or performance goals. Works under general Supervision. Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to manager or expert resource. May demonstrate work methods to new employees. Builds internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal service.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Facilities: Manages multiple office and production projects varying in complexity and dealing with internal customers to identify statement of requirements, budget, schedule. Delivering all aspects of the projects as negotiated and agreed to. Handling facilities requests based on geography, scope and/or discipline. Provides leadership and management of construction and renovation projects., Ensures good communications and acts as liaison between internal customers and service providers. Deals with projects that have a relatively high complexity level, scope and risk level. Uses good project management skills to maintain control of projects, contractors and employees. Prepares proposals for facilities related work and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in space and services optimization. Responsible for the overall maintenance of plant equipment on a daily basis. Maintains all systems including monitoring and keeping appropriate logs and measurements as required by site or local/governmental regulations. Ensures compliance to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standards.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of facilities management and operations.

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems for industrial building (11kV, LV, etc.)

  • Understanding of environmental, health and safety regulations, programs (local and government), including ISO 14001 requirements.

  • Good organization and project management skills.

  • Ability to evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot problems.

  • Ability to gather and analyze data and determine root cause of problems.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external customers.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of the position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.

  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

  • Two to Four years relevant experience

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Preferable to have electrical system design knowledge
