Shift/Hours: 3rd shift, 10:30pm-07:00am

Position Purpose Summary – Maintain and repair in accordance with applicable specifications, standards or requirement, electro-mechanical machinery and equipment.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Comply with all federal and state environmental, health and safety regulations as well as any safety policies and protocols outlined by the company

• Oversee and evaluate performance, train, and assist 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Class Maintenance Mechanics, Custodians, and Maintenance Helpers.

• Must be able to perform work with no supervision or assistance.

• Must be able to maintain, repair, overhaul, rebuild, assemble, trouble-shoot, modify, and asses the performance of all equipment, tools, instruments, buildings, utility infrastructure, and grounds within the site.

• Will be expected to affect change and continuous improvement of all equipment, tools, instruments, buildings, utility infrastructure, and grounds, and provide needed feedback or recommendations to other departments or entities.

• Must be able to calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and install instrumentation and controls or other similar equipment.

• Record all work information in the GT Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).

• Must be proficient at interpreting mechanical and P&ID drawings, electrical schematics, and measuring devices.

• Perform all duties in a timely and safe manner.

• Perform all work in accordance with Company's Safety, Environmental, and Quality Policy, and Company Rules.

• Perform miscellaneous duties within the entire interior or exterior of the site as directed by Supervision.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creating, assisting in creating or modifying procedures, work instructions, and technical drawings used for executing work or in the development and building of new and existing equipment.

• Perform associated paperwork such as:

o Equipment maintenance records.

o Updating technical documents.

• Carry and use, during working hours, a portable communications device issued by the company.

• Operate material handling equipment, and aerial man-lifts

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma / GED

• Minimum of ten years’ experience performing essential duties and responsibilities in an industrial manufacturing environment.

• Passing score of 65% or better on the Ramsay Millwright Knowledge Test, Form A3 or equivalent.

• Must be proficient in understanding and working with the following:

o Industrial Machinery

o Industrial Utilities including chilled water, cooling water, compressed air, steam, Electricity up to 480VAC

o Hydraulics

o Power & Transmission

o PLC Controls & Instrumentation

o Pneumatics

o Lubrication

• Must have above average understanding of and working with the following:

o Rigging

o Welding & Fabrication

o Engine Repair

o Small Power Tool Repair

o Masonry

o Carpentry

o Painting

o Plumbing

o HVAC Maintenance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to occasionally lift to 100 lbs. without the use of mechanical lifting devices.

• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without the use of mechanical lifting devices.

• Ability to continuously work in positions requiring grasping and repetitive movement.

• Ability to frequently work in positions requiring kneeling, standing, walking, climbing and performing repetitive movement tasks.

• Ability to work in positions involving heights, confined spaces and temperature extremes.

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as:

Hearing Protection

Eye/Face Protection

Foot Protection

Respirators

Protective Clothing

Fall Protection
