This position has been designated as Remote .

Job Summary:

The Database Administrator is responsible for ongoing support of Universal Test Databases in the Trane North America Plants. Including the following activities.

  • Maintaining ongoing communication with Plants to ensure that test issues are being identified, prioritized and resolved by coordination and with System, Software, IT and Plant Test Engineers.

  • Taking the lead role for resolving Universal Test Database related issues and liaising with key cross functional roles.Updating Database Requirements, Design, Validation and Verification Documentation as part of the resolution process.

  • Leading Teams to implement upgrades and improvements of existing databases.Communicating with Plant and Product Development Team members to ensure requirements are properly identified and met.

  • Taking technical responsibility for the development of database improvements and upgrades, developing Design Documentation including system diagrams, schematics, reporting, validation and verification plans.

This candidate must have the technical expertise to develop and lead database design projects, supervise validation testing, drive to root cause for quality and reliability issues, develop reporting concepts with data analytics, and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering practices.

Success in this role will be achieved by developing strong working relationships with the plant personnel and internal engineering organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • First Point of Contact for any Universal Test Database Related Issues with the Test Engineers in the Trane NA Plants

  • Escalation of Issue to Team Leadership and Test Engineering Team

  • Identification of Plant Issues to System and Software Engineers, driving and supporting resolution.

  • Recommendations and improvements to Test related Processes

  • Supporting Test Engineers for Product Changes

  • Data warehousing of big data tables and or complete schemas.

  • Increase DB performance by monitoring AWR reports to increase DB query performance by creating optimized queries and indexes.

  • Maintain DB user accounts and passwords for different UT groups.

  • Be the main creator of queries and indexes for the different UT groups.

  • Create DB health reports. In support of the Plants and Test Engineering Team schedules, this role may require additional hours beyond 40 hours as well as support outside of normal working hours.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and at least 3-7 years of relevant experience

  • Proficient in .NET Core, C#, Web API, and Microservices architecture.

  • Experience with AWS EC2 instances and cloud migration.

  • Experience with agile methodology and risk analysis.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and creative thinking.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

  • Proven track record of leading teams and managing projects.

  • knowledge in Shell, Python, WLST scripting will be a plus

  • Experience collaborating with small to medium sized teams working in an onsite/offshore model

  • Experience in installing, administering, cloning, upgrading, patching Oracle Application (12.2.10), Oracle Databases (12.x, 19c) and Oracle Fusion Middleware in Windows and Unix environments

  • Experience in Oracle RAC, Oracle ASM, Grid Infrastructure on releases such as 18c, 19c and 20c

  • Experience in administration of MS-SQL Server, MongoDB and PostgreSQL

  • Experience in backup, recovery strategies and capabilities and strong understanding of Oracle performance tuning

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $90,000 - $115,000

Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
