Job Summary: As a MIG Welder, you will be responsible for using MIG welding techniques to join metal parts together for various industries. You will interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layout and procedures, set up welding machines based on the job specifications, and fabricate metal components as required.

Responsibilities:

  1. Welding Operations: Perform MIG welding operations on various metals (steel, aluminum, stainless steel) according to job specifications and welding procedures.

  2. Reading Blueprints: Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols to ensure accurate assembly of parts.

  3. Machine Setup: Set up welding machines, select appropriate settings (voltage, wire speed, gas flow), and ensure proper materials and equipment are used for each job.

  4. Inspection and Quality Control: Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Make adjustments as necessary to maintain proper weld integrity.

  5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols at all times.

  6. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning and longevity.

  7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel, to achieve production goals and ensure quality output.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a MIG Welder or similar role..
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Good understanding of safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Physical stamina and strength to occasionally lift and maneuver heavy materials.
  • Certification or training in welding techniques (preferred).

Education and Training:

  • Vocational or technical training in welding is an asset.
  • Certification in welding techniques (e.g., AWS certification) is desirable.

Working Conditions:

  • May require standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Exposure to noise, heat, and potentially hazardous materials.
