UHS is currently recruiting for our Controller at Doctors Hospital of Laredo

(Laredo, TX).

Doctor's Hospital of Laredo has 183 licensed beds and is co-owned with physician investors. It is a Level III Trauma Center and has a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The facility has over40,000emergency department visits each year and employs over600 employees. The active medical staff consists of190 physicians, including120active staff members. The hospitals service lines include Cancer, Cardiology,Open Heart,Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Womens Health, Dialysis. The Controller job responsibilities will include:

The Controller supports the market through various roles and responsibilities which may include providing direct oversight of the finance department including General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Decision Support staff. The Controller also interacts with all Hospital departments ensuring proper utilization and accounting of Hospital capital and operating resources in accordance with Corporate and Hospital financial policies and procedures. The position will require active participation and possible oversight for different components of the Revenue Cycle and Supply Chain within the organization including Business Office, Care Management, Health Information Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement, and Materials Management/Supply Chain.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience coordinating and/or supervising acute care hospital/medical center finance staff including Accounts Payable, Decision Support, General Ledger and Payroll
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Computer hardware/software skills required.
  • Completion of training programs, as required.
  • Education Required: Bachelor's degree. CPA preferred.
